How CaptureRx Helped North Mississippi Primary Health Care Expand Their 340B Program
North Mississippi Primary Health Care has partnered with CaptureRx for their 340B program management. We spoke with Reeca Elliott, Pharmacist at NMPHC, to learn about their experience and the impact CaptureRx has had on their ability to serve patients across Mississippi.
How has CaptureRx helped increase North Mississippi’s 340B savings?
They’ve grown our program. They research all the pharmacies in our surrounding areas and around our clinics and they determine which ones will have volume for us. We've grown our program tremendously through their evaluations of the pharmacies receiving prescriptions from our clinics. I think when I started we had 16 pharmacies and now we have 25 contract pharmacies, not counting Kroger. We've added Kroger, we've added Accredo, which is a mail order, and all of this has come from their evaluation of our program.
How has this growth helped you serve your patients?
It's increased our outreach across our entire service area. Even patients who weren't previously using our CaptureCard are now able to access our program because their local pharmacy has joined our network. This means we're able to help more people pay for their medicines and maintain their health. We're simply reaching more people who need our help.
Can you share some specific impact numbers?
We're working on developing a home delivery program. Right now, our in-house pharmacy in Oxford delivered 700 prescriptions in April alone. And that's just one location - we have multiple sites with similar impact across our service area.
What specific benefits have you seen since partnering with CaptureRx?
We've started an annual program where we bring all our contract pharmacies together, and CaptureRx hosts these meetings. They guide the pharmacies through Cumulus, the CaptureRx software system, and answer all their questions. They've really stepped up to improve communication across our network. CaptureRx has a dedicated team member who reaches out to all our contract pharmacies whenever there's important information or an issue to resolve. The pharmacies know exactly who to contact, and issues are handled immediately. It's a great system they've put in place.
How would you describe working with the CaptureRx team?
They are absolutely amazing. I had an emergency once with a pharmacy issue. I reached out to the CaptureRx team, and before I knew it, several team members were on a Teams call with me - just like that, I had the help I needed. The entire team is great, and their availability is outstanding. I can reach out and have an answer within minutes, or within an hour at most.
How flexible is CaptureRx in meeting your specific needs?
I can reach out and say I need a specific card developed, and they make it happen. For example, we wanted a special 30-day emergency card for patients who arrive without their information. This allows us to provide a one-time, 30-day supply of medication for patients in urgent situations - like when someone's blood pressure is dangerously high but they don't have their money or insurance information with them. We cover the cost of that 30-day supply, and CaptureRx developed this solution specifically for us.
How has CaptureRx made your job easier?
The reports save me so much time - I don't have to do anything. And ReferDoc is fantastic. The way ReferDoc is set up is better than any other referral program I work with at other TPAs. The filtering capabilities and overall functionality make my job much easier. The reports are comprehensive, and when I need something specific that might only come up once a year, I just email the CaptureRx team and they get it for me right away.
How does CaptureRx help with compliance requirements?
They stay within the parameters and make sure everything is correct. When mistakes happen - because mistakes can happen in any program - they're honest about it and they fix what's wrong. They have their parameters set in place and everything is well organized. If there's a mistake made, it can be fixed - they can reverse it and redo it. It's a process, but they handle it.
What would you tell another covered entity considering CaptureRx?
I would tell them to do a trial basis with different TPAs and compare. I believe they will eventually come back to CaptureRx. The team's availability, their willingness to customize solutions for our needs, and their comprehensive support make them stand out.
