Concerning Business Practices by a 340B TPA

As a 340B Third Party Administrator (TPA), we operate with transparency and integrity, always putting the interests of our covered entity partners first. We have recently become aware of questionable conduct by another TPA that falls short of these standards.

A covered entity requested this TPA add a financial filter to certain pharmacy relationships. The TPA first refused, citing low volume. They then privately told the covered entity they would add the filter if the entity switched to working with them directly, going around the entity’s partnership with us.

When the covered entity refused to do business with a vendor engaging in such tactics, the TPA denied their previous statements and agreed to implement the filter. The entity had email proof of the TPA’s attempt to mislead them and undermine their relationship with us, which they shared with our team.

As your 340B partner, we feel obligated to bring this concerning behavior to the attention of all our valued customers. Covered entities deserve TPAs that are transparent and ethical.

We ask any of our partners who have experienced similar issues with other TPAs to please contact us. We are your advocate and will support you.

Trust and reliable partnership are essential to 340B’s success. We are committed to being an ethical, dependable partner to our covered entities. Thank you for your continued trust in us.
